
Micheal Crichton died of cancer in 2008.
His famous art collection will be sold at Christies Auction House May 11-12, 2010 New York. The collection is estimated to sell in the range of 100 million dollars. He purchased one of his paintings from a close friend, artist Jasper Johns, titled, "Flag,"(1960-1966). This painting held special significance to Crichton and was displayed above his fireplace mantle. Other paintings by Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein and Picasso are among the collection to be sold. Visit christie's for more information.
