Garden Styles

Cottage Gardens

If my garden was this large I could see it being rather vintage cottage style like this one. Yet this style would be harder to manage in my opinion. A garden like this should only be grown in year round warmer climates, because the landscape would fall into an unattractive overgrowth during winter months. I could be wrong but that's the way I see it. What kind of garden do you favor?

Check out the green walkway. Beautiful.

  1. Thank you Yolanda. I'm very slowly getting better!
I love gardens like this, and your right though, they do need all year sun to strive.
If not, the amount of weeding and dead growth in winter is HUGE!

  2. Hmmm...good question! I probably favor tropical gardens at the moment....but have always loved English gardens.

Thanks for the comment on An Artist in Paradise- You had a good question, "Why are you waiting": I'm waiting to start encaustics because we're moving from the Caribbean soon, and I'd rather not import all the supplies (shipping to the islands is slow and really expensive). In the meantime, I've been working on pen drawings and gouaches.

If I haven't said this before, I sure do like your blog! :)

  3. Encautics look really beautiful, even in a very standard form. I fell in love with a encuastic piece that was in a gallery that featured one of my paintings.
